Westpac lifts gender target

Westpac has now set an aspirational target of 50 per cent female representation in leadership roles by 2017, up from the present target of 40 per cent. The Workplace Gender Equality Agency disclosed the new target yesterday.

The WGEA said Westpac had achieved its 40 per cent target two years ahead of schedule. The bank had set that target in 2010, when the percentage of women in leadership roles was 33 per cent.
