Ian Rogers - a seasoned industry commentator with more than 30 years experience, Ian founded Banking Day to provide a news product informed by an appreciation for detail and niche topics in banking and a priority on primary sources. Assigned as a young reporter to the banking desk of the Financial Review in the late 1980s, Ian spent his decade on the AFR exploring many specialist topics. In 1999 Ian was appointed as the first Financial Services Editor of the AFR. In 2000 Ian quit Fairfax to try his hand as an entrepreneur, and Banking Day is the result - a resilient and respected name in business media. Ian remains the sole owner of the business and is its sole director. Ian works from Melbourne.
