Briefs: Westpac exec bows out, Kiwi banks fund budgeting mentors

  • Westpac group general counsel and enterprise executive, Rebecca Lim, will step down from her current role and take on a part-time advisory role at the bank. She has been at Westpac for 20 years - 10 years in her current role. She will continue in the job until a replacement has been appointed.

 

  • The NZ Bankers' Association has agreed to help fund the country’s largest network of budgeting advisers, Fincap. The deal will see ANZ, ASB, Westpac and BNZ and other NZBA members contribute to a pot of NZ$5m in funding over five years for financial mentors. The funding arrangement includes clauses specifically allowing Fincap to continue its advocacy work critical of the banking industry.
