Banking Day staff

Michelle Winzer, new CEO of RACQ Bank

  • RACQ Bank announced its new group executive – reporting to the RACQ Group CEO will be Michelle Winzer, the second women in a row to be, in effect, CEO of RACQ Bank. Winzer is leaving Westpac, or left a while back. Winzer was also CEO of Bank of Melbourne, a flop in part down to her but engineered to disappoint from early on, being a Westpac project. Michelle Bagnall, the former RACQ Bank CEO has started as new job as CEO of Bank First, in Melbourne.

  • Defence Bank has made two appointments to its board. Pam Rebecca spent 25 years at ANZ, where she held executive roles in retail lending, digital banking, customer contact centres and human resources. Jeffrey Howard is group captain and director of education and training at the Australian Defence Force Academy.

  • Finance industry veteran Christine Christian has joined the board of receivables management specialist Credit Clear, which was listed on the ASX in October and is chaired by the former chief executive of Tyro Payments Gerd Shenkel. Christian is best remembered as the CEO of Dun & Bradstreet Australia and New Zealand. She is currently the deputy chair of Flexigroup and a director of the investment research company Lonsec.
