Investec retreats to merchant banking

14 April 2014 3:55PM Ian Rogers
Investec Group will cease to trade using a banking authority in Australia after the sale of its leasing business to Bank of Queensland.

It said it would retain "a significant business in Australia" dealing with corporate and institutional banking, property funds management and investment banking.

Investec converted to full bank status in Australia in 2002.
