Queensland Country Credit Union and ECU merge

ECU, a Cairns credit union, will merge with Queensland Country Credit Union, following a member vote on Friday.The merged group will step up to 14th from 19th in mutual bank rankings.The merged group will have A$1.7 billion of assets, preceded by Victoria Teachers with $2.2 billion. CUA tops the list with $12.9 billion.A few months will roll by before QCCU throws the switch on a Data Action platform across the combined group.ECU/QCCU will retire Ultradata, the most common banking platform used by the smallest ADIs.Bruno Cullen, chair of QCCU continues in the role. Aileen Cull steers the ADI as CEO.
