Suncorp shaves mortgage rates for package borrowers

06 September 2023 5:54AM

Suncorp has reduced a range of mortgage rates under its range of package offers to owner occupiers and investment borrowers. The most generous rate reductions are being made to investment loans. In a notification to mortgage aggregators on Monday, Suncorp said it was cutting its packaged standard variable rate for investment borrowers paying principle and interest by 0.1 per cent to 6.19 per cent. This offer is available to “Home Package Plus” investment borrowers with loan to value ratios less than 80 per cent. Investors who combine their mortgage with transaction account and home insurance under the “Better Together” package will have their mortgage rate reduced by 10 basis points to 6.09 per cent. Owner occupiers taking out standard variable loan under a Home Package Plus offer will have their mortgage rate shaved by 5 basis points to 5.95 per cent. The bank is cutting the mortgage rate offered through its Better Together package for owner occupiers by 4 basis points to 5.84 per cent. Suncorp is currently one of the fastest growing home lenders in the country. In the 12 months to the end of June, the bank reported that its mortgage book expanded by 9 per cent, which equated to more than double the system growth rate.
