CBA fails CDR availability test

21 April 2022 6:24AM

Commonwealth Bank is not meeting the requirement for service availability under Consumer Data Right rules.

CDR data holders are required to have their systems available to service consumer data requests 99.5 per cent of the time. This means that when consumers try to share their CDR data with accredited data recipients, it should be successful at least 99.5 per cent of the time.

Of 103 data holders that reported performance data covering the month to 19 April, 12 failed to meet the availability benchmark.

CBA’s CommBank, CommBiz and Bankwest businesses all fell short, along with Hume Bank, PayPal Rewards Card, Laboratories Credit Union, Coles Financial Services, QBank, Citi, Rabobank, Qantas Premier Credit Cards, Volt Bank, Police Credit Union and Australian Unity Bank.

The worst performers were Australian Unity Bank, with only 60.6 per cent availability, and Police Credit Union, with 74.5 per cent availability.

Some ADIs are still struggling to meet their CDR obligations. Seven are not yet providing any performance data.
