Briefs: Laybuy bolsters executive ranks, Doshii signs new partners, Homebuilder deadline extended

19 April 2021 5:24AM
Buy now pay later provider Laybuy has hired Paul Shingles as its chief operating officer. He was previously COO of Clearlybusiness, an innovation lab run by Barclays in the UK. Laybuy has also appointed Mathew Hayward as chief marketing officer. Hayward is moving from RM Williams where was CMO for the past three years.

Hospitality software company Doshii, a division of Commonwealth Bank’s venture business x15, has signed up three point of sale partners – Abacus, Splitability and MSL. Doshii chief executive Justin O'Donnell said the new partnerships would allow its software users to link with the POS systems run by the three companies.

The government has extended the HomeBuilder construction commencement requirement. Applicants who signed contracts between 4 June 2020 and 31 March 2021 will have an additional 12 months to start construction. More than 120,000 people have applied for the grant, which the government estimates will provide support of A$2.5 billion.
