Briefs: Suncorp prices subordinated notes, more fund manager interest in RMBS

21 September 2023 4:46AM
Suncorp Group has priced an issue of floating rate subordinated notes, raising A$600 million at a margin of 235 basis points over the three-month bank bill swap rate (currently around 4.1 per cent). The issue, Wholesale Subordinated Notes 5, has a term of 10.7 years, with an option to redeem in June 2029. Australian Bond Exchange, which sells securities linked to corporate bonds to private clients, has branched out with the launch of the Australian Credit Opportunities Fund. Working with Boston Global Group, ABE will target a return of the cash rates plus 3.5 per cent by investing in locally issued mortgage-backed securities, money market instruments and corporate bonds, as well as fixed income securities from offshore issuers. Boston Global is a family office founded by former Macquarie Group head of banking and real estate Bill Moss.
