Briefs: NAB senior appointments, Guthrie quits BNK board

NAB has appointed Sarah White as its group executive people and culture. White has spent the past five years as chief of staff to the bank’s chief executive and before that was executive general manager talent and leadership. She has worked at the bank for more than 30 years. She replaces Susan Ferrier, who is leaving the bank in October. In another senior appointment, NAB has promoted Krista Baetens to the role of corporate and institutional banking executive, markets. She has spent the past two years running NAB’s wholesale banking business in Asia. Before joining NAB in 2021, Baetens worked for ING for 23 years, where her roles included head of wholesale banking in Asia Pacific. Michelle Guthrie has resigned from her position as non-executive director of BNK Banking Corporation, A left-field appointment, the former managing director of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and one-time Google executive was on the BNK board for just over two years.
