Briefs: Catholic Super seeks bank buyer, Few women reach bank C-suite

MyLife MyFinance, the banking arm of industry super fund Catholic Super is on the market, The Australian reports. The fund has hired advisory firm Gresham for a sale of its banking operations, which the fund acquired through merger in 2016. The bank had deposits around $150 million. In late 2019 Catholic Super formed a joint venture with Equip Super, In last year’s annual report the fund told members: “Our banking proposition isclearly resonating with our members.”

 

ANZ is the only Australian bank in the ASX200 with women in top level executive positions. 2020 Chief Executive Women ASX200 Senior Executive Census. Across business broadly, “the number of women reaching senior leadership positions in the ASX200 has flatlined”. The number of female CEOs in the ASX200 is no greater in 2020 than the inaugural CEW Census found in 2017. “In fact we have seen a slight decline in the last two years. Currently, there are only 10 female CEOs in the ASX200. From a total of 50 CEO appointments over the last 2 years, only 3 appointees were women.”
