Super mutual ADI unlocks credit union value

Catholic Super and Transcomm began to buddy up more than a year ago, with the super fund promoting the credit union's personal loans.By September 2015 Catholic Super had invested A$2 million in subordinated debt in the credit union.Before Christmas the alliance between the pair evolved into plans for a takeover.Andrew Blyth, chair of the board of Transcomm wrote at the website recently that : "it has been eight weeks since we wrote to you in December so it is timely to remind you that CSF Pty Ltd as trustee for MyLifeMyMoney Superannuation Fund has offered to acquire 100 per cent of Transcomm member shares."Every member purchased five $2 member shares when they joined Transcomm."In return for those shares, [Catholic Super will pay] at least $2079," he said.An explanatory booklet on the proposal will be sent to Transcomm members in early May.
