Slow start for local loan arrangers

04 February 2016 5:01PM
According to the Thomson Reuters Asia-Pacific monthly loan league tables (excluding Japan) for January, there were no Australian banks among the top 15 mandated loan arrangers in the year to date.Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ leads the APAC's (ex Japan) mandated arranger league table followed by French bank Natixis, which also tops the league table of Northeast Asia mandated arrangers. The Industrial and Commercial Bank of China also figures among the leading bookrunners and mandated arrangers for Northeast Asia syndicated loans. The best performance from a big Australian bank so far this year has been from ANZ which is sitting in fourth spot in the APAC and Asia book runner league tables and third among the Northeast Asia book runners.Among the highlights for this month is that Asia Pacific (ex Japan) YTD 2016 loan volume has reached US$4.2 billion.
