PNCS restores margin

Police & Nurses Credit Society put its margins back in order over the last year and reported a 140 per cent rise in profit from 2009. PNCS made a net profit of $23.1 million for the year, and a return on members' funds of 13 per cent.Some of this was a gain on commercial property investments. Net profit for the society increased 27 per cent to $14.4 million.The average interest margin increased from 1.46 per cent to 1.9 per cent over the year. The bad debt expense fell to $3.2 million from $3.9 million.Loans increased seven per cent while deposits increased eight per cent to $1.7 billion.
