NAB lists hgh-risk postcodes

National Australia Bank has sent brokers a list of 80 high-risk postcodes around Australia where it is capping loan-to-valuation ratios on loans, Fairfax Media reports. The list includes 34 Sydney postcodes, including a number in the inner city, where the bank believes there is rising risk. Depositors in Sydney's Glebe, Chippendale and Chatswood will have to come up with a minimum deposit of 20 per cent.The list also includes 22 postcodes in Western Australia and 11 in Queensland.Inner city Melbourne also has a number of "hotspots", including the CBD, St Kilda Road Central and Abbotsford.NAB is also capping LVRs in the CBD districts of Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.In mining towns in Western Australia and Queensland, where the bank has identified "significant deterioration in credit risk" the maximum LVR has been cut to 70 per cent.
