Bernadette Inglis, formerly with Westpac, will begin settling into her new role as CEO of Newcastle Permanent Building Society this morning.
A career banker entrusted by CommBank with senior roles from early on, Inglis headed Suncorp's banking and wealth arm for 6 years up to 2009 when she crossed to Westpac.
She served as group general manager for consumer banking at Westpac for more than 3 years, before accepting the offer of her first CEO role leading Australia's sole remaining building society.
Inglis replaces acting CEO Mark Williams, who has served in the role since Terry Millet's departure at the end of 2018.
