Greenhill promotes Australian pair

25 January 2013 5:10PM
US investment bank Greenhill says it has promoted Ron Malek and Simon Mordant to become global vice-chairmen of the firm. Both will retain the managing director job title. In its fourth quarter earnings report, released yesterday, Greenhill said the pair will advise on corporate takeovers "in cross border transactions and selectively in other markets."Greenhill said Roger Feletto and Jamie Garis will take over as co-heads of the Australian arm of Greenhill. The Australian business of Greenhill produced lower revenue in the 2012 calendar year as a proportion of all revenue despite Australian-linked transactions featuring in a roll-call of prominent deals from the last year. These include advising the Alesco Corporation on the takeover offer from DuluxGroup; the sale by the Australian Rugby League Commission of its television rights to Nine Network; the sale by CHAMP Ventures of Australian Portable Buildings; and the sale by Goodman Fielder of its edible fats and oils business to GrainCorp.Senior Australian staff of Greenhill - who sold their Caliburn advisory business in early 2010 - received some of their deferred consideration early.Greenhill issued new shares over the quarter, partly "as a result of early achievement of [a] 3-year revenue target by our Australian entity."
