Foreign News: the banking careers of the future, crypto domain sells

09 July 2018 4:11PM
HSBC has worked with a futurist to predict the six banking roles that will be in demand in the future, reports Finextra. Not surprisingly they are heavy on tech skills. The jobs include a "mixed reality" experience designer, algorithm mechanic, conversational interface designer, and a digital process engineer. Also in demand will be "partnership gateway enablers" who will manage the relationships with partners such as fintechs and global tech companies. A university professor who registered the crypto.com domain name in 1993 has finally sold. Matt Blaze reportedly knocked back numerous offers for the domain and as recently as January said it was not for sale, despite an estimated value of US$10 million. Now the domain has been bought for an undisclosed sum by Monaco, a Hong Kong based startup behind a cryptocurrency Visa debit card. It plans to rebrand as Crypto.com and rebrand its Visa card and wallet app as MCO.
