Finance staff restless

Almost two-thirds of finance professionals in Australia intend to look for a job elsewhere this year, according to a survey by job placement website eFinancialCareers.Those looking for a new jobs are cautious about their prospects, however, with 84 per cent expecting it to be "hard" or "very hard" to find a new position in their area of speciality.One reason for their caution may be that those looking to move jobs are aiming high.eFinancialCareers said about a third of survey respondents were looking for a minimum pay rise of between 10 per cent and 19 per cent.Another 15 per cent of job-seekers want a rise of between 20 per cent and 29 per cent.Most financial professionals in Australia want to stay in the country, according to the survey. About three-quarters of the 472 respondents to a survey of Australian finance staff said they are not moving or considering re-locating in 2012.Of those open to swapping sectors, mining (mentioned by 26 per cent of those surveyed) and oil and gas (10 per cent) are the most popular choices.
