Endeavour Mutual first with .BANK domain

04 July 2018 5:01PM
Endeavour Mutual Bank has moved its website to a new web identity - www.endeavour.bank - said to be Australia's first active dot bank domain.CEO Mark Worthington wrote to members that "the dot bank environment is exclusive to the banking industry, and it provides a level of security unmatched in traditional internet environments. "The controls in place mitigate cyber security risk and allow Endeavour Mutual Bank to better protect its customers. "The new www.endeavour.bank domain is an online stamp of trust."Worthington said that "since www.endeavour.bank is a verified domain, fraudsters cannot get a dot bank domain or email address that looks like it in order to impersonate and phish customers or employees."Only verified banking institutions are permitted to use the dot bank domain, giving customers an immediate visual message of trust and integrity," he said. This was a "six month implementation project that involved core banking and digital services provider Ultradata for website hosting, and IT infrastructure provider Transaction Solutions (TAS) for @endeavour.bank email server setup and management."
