Edey retirement triggers more management change at RBA

Senior management changes keep coming at the Reserve Bank, with news that long-serving assistant governor Malcolm Edey will retire at the end of next month.RBA governor Philip Lowe, who took up the top job at the central bank this week, has appointed Michelle Bullock, currently assistant governor in charge of business services, to the role of assistant governor financial system - the position Edey held.Bullock will also serve as the deputy chair of the Payments System Board.Lowe also announced that Christopher Kent, who is currently assistant governor (economic), has been appointed assistant governor in charge of financial markets supervision - the role held by Guy Debelle before his appointment as deputy governor.The positions of assistant governor (economic) and assistant governor business services will be advertised.Lowe praised Edey for his contribution at the RBA, where he has worked for almost 40 years.
