DIY super skips along

03 July 2009 4:25PM Ian Rogers
Self-managed funds grew in number and asset value over the year to June 2008, a testament to the determination of the do-it-yourself set.

APRA recorded 388,000 self-managed funds at mid 2008, up 21,000, or up nine per cent.

Assets of DIY funds increased seven per cent to $358 billion.

Total reported assets of the super sector in Australia at June 2008 were $1.17 trillion, down two per cent on 2007.
