Briefs: Suncorp lures Microsoft MD, Code of Banking Practice review delayed, Stevens quits FlexiGrou

16 December 2016 4:44PM
Microsoft Australia managing director Pip Marlow has jumped ship and will join Suncorp as chief executive officer strategic innovation. She will be responsible for identifying and establishing "new external marketplace partners to meet the needs of customers." She moves to Suncorp in March next year. Completion of the review of the Code of Banking Practice has been delayed. The Australian Bankers Association said the independent reviewer Phil Khoury had asked for more time "to deal with the breadth and complexity of issues." The ABA said it expected to receive the report by the end of January. FlexiGroup chief financial officer and managing director of FlexiGroup New Zealand, David Stevens, has quit the company. Stevens spent nine years at FlexiGroup, including a spell as acting co-chief executive after former CEO Tarek Robbiati made a quick exit last year. Ross Aucutt will take over as CFO. Outgoing Commonwealth Ombudsman Colin Neave will join ANZ in the New Year as the bank's customer fairness adviser, which is a new role. His job will be to help improve the fairness of the bank's products and services for retail, small business and wealth customers in Australia. Neave is a former chief ombudsman of the Financial Ombudsman Service and chair of the Legal Services Board of Victoria.
