Briefs: People's Choice names chief marketer, Insurance class action discontinued

21 September 2017 3:58PM
People's Choice Credit Union is bringing international finance marketing talent to Adelaide. The SA-based mutual has named Kate Henley (right) as its new chief marketing officer. Her most recent role was managing director of a consultancy specialising in technology marketing, brand communication and digital strategy. In a 25-year career, Henley has held a range of senior marketing and communication roles with major financial services brands that include Standard Chartered Bank, Société Générale, Royal Bank of Scotland and Visa International. A Federal Court class action, based on alleged breaches of the Banking, Finance and Insurance Award 2010 by Chubb Insurance Australia Limited, for alleged failures to comply with the award on minimum rates, overtime and penalties has been discontinued, reports Workplace Express.  The claim, lodged in March on behalf of 39 employees, has been shelved after the lawyers for the employees told the court they had failed to secure litigation funding. The judge said that the parties had agreed the rights of the 13 remaining group members to pursue individual claims have been preserved and that there are no time limitation issues in the short-term.
