Briefs: Next Payments clarification, ANZ joins SwapClear

19 September 2013 4:21PM
Clarification: Next Payments is not a party to the legal dispute between DC Payments and its former national sales manager, Tyson Lester. As reported yesterday, late last month, the Supreme Court of Victoria restrained Lester from mis-using customer data allegedly copied from DC Payments' files. Lester is now a contractor to Next. ANZ says it is now a direct clearing member of LCH.Clearnet's SwapClear interest rate swap-clearing service. It also said it has cleared its first trade as a direct member. SwapClear caters to derivatives clearing for fixed-income clients dealing in US dollars, pounds sterling, euros and Japanese yen. A similar service offered by the ASX handles trades in Australian and New Zealand dollars.
