Briefs: New chair for CUA, Xpress Super to offer RateSetter option

04 July 2017 3:26PM
Nigel Ampherlaw will take over as chair of Credit Union Australia from November, replacing Alan Beanland who is retiring after eight years in the role. Ampherlaw, a former partner of PwC joined the CUA board in March 2011. Ampherlaw is also a director of Grameen Foundation Australia, Elanor Investor Group, Quickstep Holdings and the Australian Red Cross Blood Service. Xpress Super will become the second self-managed super fund administration platform to feature RateSetter, a retail peer-to-peer lender, as an investment option. Olivia Long, CEO of Xpress Super, said RateSetter was the only marketplace lender on its platform. She said the P2P lender suited her firm's "paperless platform [and] live, up-to-date information." Class was the first platform to feature RateSetter, in the second half of 2016.
