Briefs: Australian Payments Council issues hackathon invite, another Aussie broker banned
21 October 2016 4:50PM
The Australian Payments Council has invited organisations with an interest in payments to participate in a Challenge Design Workshop it is hosting as part of the Spark Festival Sydney next week. The workshop will be a forum for designing a range of challenges to be used in a hackathon next year, which will have a focus on data sharing and its role in creating new customer services. The APC will award prizes to the top teams. It is taking registrations for the workshop here. A former Aussie Home Loans broker has been permanently banned from engaging in credit activities - the fourth Aussie broker to be permanently banked or convicted in the past 18 months. Bernard Meehan submitted false or misleading documents in nine home loan applications over a 12-month period from January 2014. The Australian Securities and Investments Commission said that among the false documents were pay slips that had not been issued by the supposed employer.
