Brexit pundits all at odds

23 June 2016 4:03PM
A dicey night and nervous Friday await global markets, with the UK Brexit vote an event richly anticipated for its capacity to leave slabs of the market on the wrong side of a compelling trade. The betting … well, it's mixed. Global capital flows (UK to Switzerland according to London commentator Robert Peston) and sterling FX rates (recovering last night after weeks of weakness) suggest Brexit is either home and hosed - or considered a risk too high to bear.London bookmakers, on the other hand, are more decisive. Oddschecker has the range on 'Remain' at 3/10 on the weak end of a range topping out at 2/7.This leaves 'Leave' at odds of 3:1 to carry the day overnight, Australian time.Remain? It's markets versus bookies and Banking Day's throwing in its lot with the status quo.
