Aussie aims to add 200 new brokers

09 September 2014 3:53PM
Mortgage broker Aussie has launched a recruitment drive, aiming to increase its broker numbers by 200 over the next 12 months. The company is hoping to capitalise on the growth in commission rates and stronger home loan demand over the past year to attract new talent.Aussie executive chairman John Symond said in a media release that the company was looking for franchisees to open new stores, as well as for more mobile brokers. The Aussie network currently includes 160 franchise stores (an increase of ten over the past year), 451 loan writers and 438 mobile brokers.Last week, Aussie reported that its loan settlements grew by 18 per cent to A$17 billion in the year to June. This was a record for the company. It has not been all good news for the company, however. Last month it withdrew its credit cards from sale.
