Keith Chapman will replace Wayne Byres as executive general manager of the Diversified Institutions Division at the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. The "diversified institutions" role puts him in charge of supervision of the major banks.

Byres is leaving APRA this month to take up the post of secretary general of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in Switzerland.
