Westpac and Virgin Money have cranked up the level of resources dedicated to handling the heavy demand for the bank's Virgin branded credit card, but the bank still appears to be struggling with a backlog of applications in the tens of thousands, if not higher.
Through Finance Sector Union sources, it appears that Westpac has managed to process and deliver between 11,000 and 12,000 Virgin Money credit cards in the two and a half months since launching the card.
