Wide Bay and Capricorn Building Society has decided on a change of name, in a step that reinforces the weakened value of the term "building society".

The Bundaberg-based bank will adopt the name, Wide Bay Australia, but not style itself a bank. The bank (this journal's term for all deposit taking institutions) won't be investing in a fancy new logo.
