- Twitter deleted the account of one of the bank's critics who was commenting under a pseudonym, one selected as the name of an executive of CBA's Bankwest subsidiary. David Cohen, the bank's legal counsel, told the Financial Review the comments were slanderous.
- GE has selected Futurestep to help manage recruitment across its finance and other businesses in Australia and New Zealand. Futurestep New Zealand's managing director, Nick Simcock, told Shortlist that the firm would make around 600 permanent hires a year in contact centre, non-contact centre and graduate roles. The recruiter will also help with the administrative side of the other 1300 hires GE makes annually.
- OnCard repatriated more capital from one of its joint venture businesses in China during the 2012 financial year. The Melbourne-based company will continue to hold on to the cash to meet future business needs. OnCard has simplified its payments and loyalty business over the last couple of years, and is still waiting for regulators in China to clarify licensing and ownership rules. Its net profit more than doubled over the year, to $2.8 million.
