Briefs: NAB's Mentis retires; CBA appoints head of small business banking; and more

Retiring NAB executive Angela Mentis

  • NAB chief digital, data and analytics officer Angela Mentis will retire next month, after 17 years at the bank. The bank said in a statement that she is retiring from full-time executive roles. Since joining the bank in 2006, Mentis has led corporate and institutional banking, business and private banking and been CEO of Bank of New Zealand. Mentis started her career at Macquarie Group and held senior roles at Westpac, BT and Citibank. COO Les Matheson will take on Mentis’ responsibilities.
  • Commonwealth Bank has appointed Rebecca Warren to the role of executive general manager, small business banking. Warren has been at CBA since 2017 and her previous jobs have included general manager marketing and general manager strategy and transformation. She has also worked at NAB and St George Bank in retail, business and institutional banking roles.
  • The founder of financial services research company RFI Global, Charles Green, is stepping down after running the business for 17 years. He will continue to work at RFI, focusing on “key global and strategic accounts”. Former investment banker Matt Lawrence will take over as CEO. RFI was launched in Sydney in 2006 but has gone global since Diversis Capital made an investment in the business in 2020.
  • AMP chief technology officer Felicia Trewin is moving on. Trewin who has been CTO at AMP since March last year, has taken the job of group lead for data and technology at Medibank. AMP said she would work through a transition period while it conducts an executive search.
